Bihar, Tamil Nadu, 3 other states get new governors, Brig BD Mishra to head sensitive Arunachal Pradesh, Satyapal Malik Bihar
The President has appointed new governors in many states on Saturday. Most of the governors of those states have been changed, where at the center there are close to ruling BJP government. There are also mostly North-Eastern states.
Brig BD Mishra (retired) has been appointed as the Governor of the sensitive Arunachal Pradesh due to the security of the international border with China. Satyapal Malik has been made Governor of Bihar. Satyapal Malik has been a minister in BJP’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government
After Former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha’s demise, the government has appointed Banwar Lal Lal Purohit as the governor of Tamil Nadu who is battling political instability. Banwari Lal has been sitting four times in the Nagpur Nagpur Lok Sabha seat. Three times on the Congress ticket and once upon the BJP ticket.
Professor Jagdish Mukhi has been appointed as Governor of Assam while Ganga Prasad has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya.
Professor Jagdish Mukhi was earlier Deputy Governor of Andaman Nicobar Islands Union Territory. Now they will replace by Admiral (retired) Devendra Kumar Joshi.
