New Delhi: Team India’s experienced fast bowler Ashish Nehra has announced retirement from cricket. Nehra will say goodbye to his 18-year-old cricketing career after the first T20 cricket to be held on November 1 in his home ground Ferozeshah Kotla New Delhi against newland .
A senior BCCI official told that Nehra has told Chief Coach Ravi Shastri and Captain Virat Kohli about their decision.Nehra was recently selected in the Indian team for a series of three T-20 matches against Australia but at that time everyone was surprised when he did not get a place in the playing XI for the first two matches.
In 1999, Nehra, who led India in the captaincy of Mohammad Azharuddin, has played 17 Tests, 120 ODIs and 26 T20 Internationals. He took 44 wickets in Test matches, 157 ODIs and 34 wickets in T20.
