ICC rankings: Virat Kohli left behind, De Villiers became No. 1 batsman

Team India captain Virat Kohli has slipped one place to second in the latest ranking of ODI batsmen released by the ICC. Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has replaced Virat Kohli in the rankings of ODI batsmen and has occupied No. 1 position.

Kohli is just two points behind ratings points in De Villiers. Thanks to the 176 runs scored by Perl against Bangladesh, AB de Villiers has got a bounce in the rankings. Rohit Sharma , the other Indian in the top 10 batting rankings, has slipped to seventh from the loss of two places. On the other hand, Team India’s former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has moved out of the list of the top 10 batsmen and has reached 12th position.

Among the bowlers, Jaspreet Bumrah and Akshar Patel are two Indians in the top 10. Bumrah has slipped a rung to the sixth position, while Patel has reached the eighth position. In the rankings for ODI bowlers, Pakistan’s Hasan Ali is on top, who is the fifth bowler to reach number one in ODIs this year with a jump of six places.

Hasan Ali has so far claimed 9 wickets in the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. No Indian is included in the top 10 in the all-rounders rankings. Mohammad Hafeez of Pakistan remains on top of the list of all-rounders

With the win in the second one-day match against Bangladesh, Africa has achieved top position.
