Babri Masjid demolition: CBI court to fixed charges against LK Advani, Joshi, Uma Bharti today

LUCKNOW: In the Babri demolition case, there are 12 people including senior BJP leader LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti and others are present in the court. Today, all these leaders will be charged in the 1992 Babri demolition case. In the previous order, the court had instructed these leaders to appear before the court in every situation. It is reported that Advani and Joshi have been traveling directly from Delhi to Lucknow. After reaching Lucknow, all the leaders present in the court will meet in the VVIP guest house and after that all the leaders will go to the court. It is being told that the proceedings of the court will start at 11 o’clock and the entire proceedings can last from two to two and a half hours.

All these leaders are accused of plotting to demolish Babri Masjid, creating hostility among the people of two faiths, provoking religious sentiments, and breaking national unity. In the past, the Supreme Court had said in its decision that the criminal conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid will be fought in Lucknow’s Special CBI Court against Joshi.

The Supreme Court had last month directed that the case was shifted from Rae Bareli to Lucknow , where another case related to this is going on. This court is hearing daily on the Babri Masjid demolition case of 1992. Let me tell you that the court refused to grant Advani and Central Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti a personal exemption.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court acquitted all three leaders in 2001 in connection with the conspiracy of plotting in the Babri case. The Allahabad High Court upheld the allegations during the hearing of the case in 2010. In April this year, the Supreme Court said in its decision that the leaders of BJP, Shiv Sena and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will face a lawsuit for alleged involvement in the plot to demolish the Babri Masjid. The CBI also insisted on keeping the charges.

The Supreme Court had asked the Lucknow Special Court to hear the matter at its daily level, to decide the fresh charges within one month and to settle the case within two years. At the beginning of this week, five accused surrendered before the court, while Shiv Sena’s leader surrendered on Wednesday (May 24th), after which all were granted bail.
