bihar:Bihar govt sanctions more than Rs 2,789.71 crore for teachers’ salary

Patna, June 13 — Bihar government today sanctioned more than Rs 2,789.71 crore for the payment of salaries to teachers of primary, secondary, higher secondary and Madrassa schools in the state.

A proposal to that effect was passed in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

State cabinet secretariate department principal secretary Brajesh Mehrotra told newspersons here that Rs 1,377 crore had been sanctioned for payment of salaries to Nagar primary teachers, Nagar

elementary teachers, block teachers and panchayat teachers working at government owned primary and middle schools during 2017-18. Bihar government today sanctioned more than Rs 2,789.71 crore for the payment of salaries to teachers of primary, secondary, higher secondary and Madrassa schools in the state. State cabinet secretariate department principal secretary Brajesh Mehrotra told newspersons here that Rs 1,377 crore had been sanctioned for payment of salaries to Nagar primary teachers, Nagar elementary teachers, block teachers and panchayat teachers working at government owned primary and middle schools during 2017-18. Mr Mehrotra said the state cabinet also sanctioned more than Rs 1,167.71 crore for payment of salaries to 22,741 contractual teachers appointed at district boards and various civic bodies for secondary education, 11,588 higher secondary teachers and 1,896 librarians. He said, a sum of Rs 200 crore had been earmarked for payment of salaries to teachers and non-teaching employees working at 1,128 Madrassas of the state during the current financial year.
