Government should decide Presidential candidate before 20 june, ultimatum by opposition, otherwise the opposition will drop the different candidates!

The BJP is talking about the general consensus on the presidential election. In this episode the continuation of continuous meeting of leaders of the party leaders from opposition parties. Meanwhile, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury has made a big deal.

Sitaram Yechury cleared the presidential candidate on Saturday that if the central government does not decide the name of the candidate by June 20, then he will appeal to the leaders of the opposition parties that they should declare their candidate’s name separately. In a way CPM general secretary gave the ultimatum to the Central Government by 20th day. However, the rest of the parties have not yet cleared their stand on this.

Earlier , to form a general opinion on the presidential candidate, a BJP committee had met the top leaders of the Congress and Left parties on Friday. But when the committee did not name any candidate, the opposition questioned the exercise.

Two members of the committee, Union ministers Rajnath Singh and M Venkaiah Naidu, met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and senior BJP leaders like Advani and Murli Manohar.

While criticizing the BJP for not giving any name, Sitaram Yechury said on Friday that BJP’s meetings with opposition parties are merely a show-piece for the presidential election. He had made clear that the person with strong secular credentials should be the next president.

Not only that, after meeting Rajnath and Sonia Gandhi of Venkaiah, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad had said that BJP leaders did not offer any names and told the Congress leaders to tell about their options. He said that we had hoped that BJP leaders will come with a name for the Presidential post so that Congress can make a decision on it, but nothing like that happened.
