Bihar:30 new cities selected to be made Smart,patna and muzaffarpur will become the smart city

Patna: Bihar’s capital Patna and Muzaffarpur have been included in the list of 30 cities released by the Central Government on Friday for Smart City. In the list, Patna has been placed at fifth and Muzaffarpur at number 7. Smart Cities Mission was launched on June 25, 2015 to make cities a smart city. A total of 90 cities have been selected so far. Minister of Urban Development and Housing and Poverty Alleviation M. Venkaiah Naidu said that only 30 cities have been selected in 40 Smart City slots. There are tough competition in 20 cities for other ten cities. Naidu said that Rs 57,393 crores will be spent to make 30 cities a smart city.
The 20 cities that have stiff competition for the other ten cities also include Bihar’s Bihar Sheriff. Other 19 cities include Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), Diu (Daman and Diu), Silvas (Dadra and Nagar Haveli), Kavaratti (Lakshadweep), Naval Mumbai, Greater Mumbai and Amravati (Maharashtra), Imphal (Manipur), Shillong (Meghalaya) , Dindigul and Erode (Tamil Nadu), Bidhanagar, Durgapur and Haldia (West Bengal), Meerut, Rae Bareli, Ghaziabad, Sharanpur and Rampur (UP).
