# BIHAR / FLOOD: 41 killed, 65.37 lakh population affected, call on these numbers for assistance

Patna: Incessant floods due to heavy rains in neighboring Nepal and Bihar, 41 people have died in the state and floods have affected 65.37 lakh population in 12 districts. Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Department Prayhai Amrit said that the maximum number of 21 people in Arianya from Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Eastern Champaran, Western Champaran, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamdhi, Shivarh, Supaul and Madhepura of 12 affected areas of flood affected region , 6 in Sitamdhi, five in Kishanganj, three in Champaran, Western Champaran and Darbhanga and one in Madhubani people die due to flood.

 




Pradhyay Amrit, Principal Secretary of the disaster management , said that 84 block and 889 panchayats of these 12 districts have been affected due to floods and a total of 65.37 lakh population has been affected, out of which 1,82,480 have been transported to the safe area and 254 relief camps. 48120 people have been sheltering. Suvidya said that in the flood-hit areas, 22 teams of NDRF, including 949 jawans and 100 boats, a team of SDRF, comprising 42 jawans and 82 boats, 630 personnel of Army and 70 boats have been fired for rescue in the affected areas.

Meanwhile, the Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway Rajesh Kumar said that the operation of trains on this section has been hampered due to water flowing above the danger mark of bridge number 117 on Kishanganj and Hatwar stations of Katihar Mandal.

He said that the total number of trains completed partially in Katihar Division is 11 and total 33 trains have been canceled.

Rajesh said that today the train number 12505 will open from Katihar North East express instead of Guwahati, which means that this train will be canceled between Guwahati and Katihar.
