Ground report of Bihar flood: 72 deaths, 73 million people surrounded by flood water, NDRF in rescue

In north India rain and flood is not taking the name of the hindrance. Especially in Bihar, the devastation of the flood is taking a vivid form. Due to torrential rains in Nepal, the water level in the Sikrana river of Motihari is flowing above the danger mark. Flood water has penetrated in nearby villages. In Bihar, 14 districts are affected by flooding. So far, 72 people have died. There are 73.44 lakh population affected.

72 killed in Bihar

Disaster Management Department’s Special Secretary Anirudh Kumar said that in Bihar, 72 people have died so far. Affected Kishanganj 14 districts, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, East Champaran, West Champaran, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Supaul and in the more than 20 people Araria from Madhepura, 11 in Sitamarhi, West Champaran 9 in Kishanganj, 8 in Madhubani and Purnea, 4 in Madhepura and Darbhanga, 3 in East Champaran, 2 in Shivhar and one person died in Supaul.




73.44 lakh population affected

He said that due to flood, 110 block and 1,151 panchayat areas of these 14 districts have been affected. A total of 73.44 lakh population has been affected.

Relief program released

Work is being done by the State Government to remove the people who are flooded. So far, 2.74 lakh people have been taken to the safer place from the flood-affected area. 1.16 lakh people have been taken as refuge in 504 relief camps.

Chief Minister looks at relief and rescue operations

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was scheduled to conduct a survey of flood affected Betiya and Valmikinagar with Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, but due to bad weather, he could not fly. They are monitoring the relief and rescue operations for flood situation and flood victims. As well as getting information from senior officials about it, keep giving necessary instructions.

Allocated foods for flood prone districts

Union Food Minister Ramvilas Paswan tweeted that the Center has allocated an additional 14 thousand 760 tonnes of rice for flood affected districts. Explain that at least 14 districts of Bihar are affected by the flood.

He said that Bihar Food Secretary had demanded an additional 14 thousand 760 tonnes of rice for flood affected districts. On this, the central government directed the release of rice immediately for flood affected people in Bihar. He said that if needed, the Center will provide more food to the state.

PM gives assurance of every possible help

He told that floods in Bihar were discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this, the PM said that the Center is making every effort to flood-affected Bihar.
