Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule of the Under-19 World Cup cricket tournament on Thursday, in which the Indian team will be the first to be played from Australia. It will be the inauguration of the tournament. The tournament will begin on January 13 next year and the closing will be on February 3.

For the Under-19 World Cup, the Indian team has been placed in Group B with Australia, Zimbabwe and East Asia Pacific qualifier Papua New Guinea. This was announced by the ICC in a release released on Thursday.




Before the start of this main tournament, India will face on January 9 against South Africa and January 11 against Kenya in practice match.

Apart from this, the current winner of the tournament will be the first West Indies’ host to host New Zealand. Both teams have been included in Group-A with 2012 Champion South Africa and Africa qualifier Kenya.

In addition, Group-C has included Canada, England and Namibia, while the two-time champions Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Asia qualifier Afghanistan and Europe qualifier Ireland have been included in Group-D.

In this way, two groups of top level teams will join the Super League in each group, while the remaining eight teams will be seen in the plate championship.

The semi-final match of the tournament will be played on the 29th and 30th January at the Hegel Oval ground. In addition, the final match will be played on the Bay Oval ground on February 3.
