Patna: In the program organized at the newly built Ashok Convention Center in Bihar’s capital Patna, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi also strongly opposes dowry and child marriage.

While addressing the meeting, he said that I decided to not be included in dowry weddings affected by Jai Prakash Narayan. I have not been involved in the weddings of my family for ten to fifteen years.

After becoming a legislator, fear of losing the elections started to go to dowry weddings too. The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to all people to oppose dowry on this occasion and come forward to protest against this. He kept his point while advocating elimination of dowry and end child marriage from Bihar completely.

Earlier, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that alcohal ban in Bihar is a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Some people see it linking to Liberty. The chief minister said that in our state 39 percent child marriages are done.
