Big relief to Sreesanth, Kerala High Court also removed BCCI’s life time ban

Cricketer S. sri santh Life Restriction in spot-fixing case Sreesanth has got great relief. On Monday, the Kerala High Court has lifted the ban imposed by the BCCI. This restriction on Sreesanth was felt after being inducted into the IPL-6 (2013) spot-fixing affair. This year’s event was reported from the Ernakulam Club of Kerala for two days before the first division match. But before that Sreesanth had to play club cricket in Scotland. But BCCI did not give him NOC for this.

After the verdict, Sreesanth had approached the BCCI to remove the ban but his plea was turned down. Later, he approached the Kerala High Court saying that though the court had given him a clean chit, the cricket body continued to harass him. He also pleaded that his sports career was getting ruined because of the ban.

In fact, the IPL was in its last stages in 2013, but then the news of spot-fixing was a source of turmoil. On 16 May 2013, Sreesanth and two other fellow players of Rajasthan Royals (Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan) were arrested. The allegations of spot-fixing in the IPL-6 were arrested by the Delhi Police in Mumbai.

Later, the BCCI had imposed a life ban on him.

“It is a really good news for me. I will back in the field soon,” he said after the verdict.

During the hearing BCCI contended that the decision was taken by the former administrative committee of the body and the new committee can’t take a decision on this. Subsequently, it had denied him a no objection certificate (NOC) to play the Scottish League.
