Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s announcement of eye donation

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that eye bank would be opened in all the medical colleges and district hospitals of the state by the end of this year so that the cornea of people donating their eyes could be kept safe and stored.

Apart from this, Kidney Transplant facility will be restored in IGMS (Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences) and Liver Transplant in PMCH started by the end of this year.

 




CM was addressing the program organized at Vidyapati Bhavan on Sunday on the occasion of International Angadhan divash on behalf of Dadhichi Dehadan Committee. CM announced the donation of his eyes on this occasion and said that all common and specially appealed to come forward for this. He told the officials of the committee that for this, they should get the signatureby bringing the relevant papers.

He said that earlier the facility of declaring brain death to any patient in the state was not in any hospital, but this facility has started in IGMS. To make this work, a whole team of doctors has been prepared here. Restoring such facilities to other major hospitals is being considered.
