Industrialist Vijay Mallya arrested in London, arrested in money laundering case

London: Kingfisher and UB Group owner Vijay Mallya have been arrested in London. According to the information, this arrest took place in the money laundering case. It is worth mentioning that over Rs 9,000 crore of Indian banks is due on Vijay Mallya. Let me tell you that Mallya had escaped from India in March last year.

Prior to his absconding from India, he had a deal with USL, in which he got more than Rs 500 crores in lieu of his removal from the company and he was freed from any of the ‘personal liability’ at that time. Since then, Mallya has been in the UK. A few days later, the Supreme Court had asked Mallya to appear personally on March 30, 2016, along with her passport. India formally requested the UK government to extradite Mallya under the India-UK Extradition Treaty on 8 February this year. At the same time, an auction of properties is now being done by SBI Cap Trustee on behalf of Landers.
