Justice Deepak Mishra will be next CJI, replaced Justice Khehar

Justice Deepak Mishra of the Supreme Court will be the next Chief Justice of the country. He will replace Justice Jagdish Singh Kher, who retires on August 27. Justice Mishra, living in Odisha, was born on October 3, 1953. He will take charge of 45th Chief Justice of India on 28th August. His tenure will be till 2 October 2018.

Judge Deepak Mishra started as a lawyer career in 1977 from the Odisha High Court. After this, he became the Judge of the Odisha High Court in 1996. Subsequently, Justice Deepak Mishra took charge of the Patna High Court Chief Justice in the year 2009. On December 24, 2009, Devanand Kunwar, the then Governor of Bihar, administered the oath of office and secrecy to him.
