Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Mazar of Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar on Thursday during his Myanmar tour. This Mazar is in Mangoon of Myanmar. Bahadur Shah Zafar was quite active during the movement of the freedom struggle.

Apart from this, PM Modi will also visit the famous town of Bagan city. Where the Archaeological Survey of India has done a major work to repair the Ananda Mandir damaged in Myanmar earthquake last year.

Let us tell you that for a long time, there is a demand for bringing Shah’s grave to India. His death took place in the year 1862 at the age of 89 and he was buried under the British rule in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar. Zafar had spent his last years in exile in Myanmar after the Revolution of 1857.

After crushing the movement, Zafar, who led the movement in 1857, sent the British empire to Myanmar in 1858. During this time he was living with his wife Jeetat Mahal and some other family members. He died on November 7, 1862. This is where they were made their mazar. Local people of Myanmar also gave him the title of saint.

The two leaders addressed the shared press briefing after the talks. There were several agreements between India and Myanmar.
