Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has demanded from the central government to reduce the base price of petrol and diesel in Bihar

Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has demanded from the central government to reduce the base price of petrol and diesel in Bihar. He said that the base price of petrol and diesel in Bihar is high.

If this will decrease, then petrol and diesel in Bihar will also be cheap. In Bihar, around 56 rupees is the base price of petrol, while Jharkhand has a base price of 51 rupees. There is a need to re-calculate the base price of petrol and diesel. The Chief Minister was interacting with journalists after the Public Dialogue program on Monday.

He said in a press conference held at Public Dialogue Room, 1Anne Marg, that after the implementation of GST, many types of taxes on petrol and diesel were also ended. In Bihar, 26% on petrol and 19% on diesel is taxed.

In this case, other tax exemptions should be given, in which the base price of petrol and diesel in Bihar will be low and people get cheaper. Bihar is the state with the Lowest (lowest) VAT except for one or two states. The Bihar government had earlier reduced the tax on petrol and diesel, which made it cheap.
