New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh is at the forefront of keeping guns in the country. In UP, 12.77 lakh people have a license to hold arms and this state is at the top of the list of states with licensed states. In second place, terrorism-affected state is Jammu Kashmir, where 3.69 lakh people have a license to keep a gun.

According to the figures released by the Home Ministry, according to the condition of 31 December 2016, the number of licenses issued by the guns in the country is 33 lakh 69 thousand 444.

The highest number of guns in Uttar Pradesh is where 12 lakh 77 thousand 914 people can carry weapons. Most people have licensed under the name of personal security. According to the 2011 census data, the population of Uttar Pradesh is 19.88 million and 12 thousand 341.




The Ministry said that in the last three decades, 3 lakh 69 thousand and 191 people of Jammu and Kashmir, who were suffering from terrorism, have a gun license. This includes both restricted bore and non-restricted bore weapons. According to the census of 2011, the total population of the province is 1 crore 25 lakh 41 thousand 302.

The number of licenses for guns in Punjab in the year 1980 and 90, which has been suffering from terrorism, is 3 lakh 59 thousand 349. Most of these licenses were issued in the state during the two decades of terrorism. According to the 2011 census, the total population of Punjab is 2 million 77 lakh 43 thousand 338.

It has been reported that in Madhya Pradesh 2 lakh 47 thousand 130 people and 1 lakh 41 thousand 926 people in Haryana have a license to hold a gun.

Other states in Rajasthan (1,33,968 licenses), Karnataka (1,13,631), Maharashtra (84,050), Bihar (82,585), Himachal Pradesh (77,069), Uttarakhand (64,770), Gujarat (60,784) and West Bengal (60,525) Are there.

According to statistics, the number of licensed gunmen in Delhi is 38,754, whereas in Nagaland 36,606, 34,394 in Arunachal Pradesh, 26,836 in Manipur, 22,532 in Tamil Nadu and 20,588 licenses have been issued in Odisha.

According to the Ministry, the lowest licenses were issued in Union territories Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Only 125-125 licenses were issued in these states.
