Right to privacy: Congress welcomes SC’s decision, say it’s shock for BJP
New Delhi: Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict declaring the right to privacy as a fundamental right, the Congress said that it is the victory of every Indian. The Congress said that through this the fascist forces have been totally denied.
Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi described the decision of the Supreme Court as the victory of every Indian. He tweeted, “The judgment of the Supreme Court has struck the fascist forces. BJP ideology pressing through monitoring has denied firmly.
In a second tweet, he said, “We welcome the Supreme Court decision in which the right to privacy is said to be the fundamental part of the person’s independence and dignity.”

At the same time, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that the Supreme Court’s decision on the right to privacy is a blow to the unarmed interference and monitoring by the government and its agencies in the lives of the common man.
The Supreme Court on Thursday declared the right to privacy is a fundamental right in its historic decision affecting every citizen of the country under the Constitution as a fundamental right.
