Silent Diwali: Ban on sale of firecrackers in Delhi, NCR to continue till Nov 1

If you live in Delhi-NCR, your Diwali will be quite peaceful. The Supreme Court has upheld the sale of firecrackers in New Delhi-NCR. Now there will not be sale of firecrackers before Diwali. Be informed that this time Diwali will be celebrated on October 19.

The Supreme Court has said that the sale of firecrackers will be resumed from 1 November 2017. With this decision, the Supreme Court wants to see how impact of pollution is due to firecrackers.




The Supreme Court upheld this order keeping the order of November 2016, which prohibits the sale and storage of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR.

Judge Justice A.K. A bench headed by Sikri, while retaining the verdict, said, “We should look at at least one festival of without firecrackers at Diwali.” The court said that the order of September 12, 2017, to be imposed on November 12, 2017, to remove the restriction on the sale and storage of firecrackers in Delhi and NCR will be reintroduced from November 1 i.e. that would be selling firecrackers again from November 1.
