US Defense Minister meets PM Modi, discussions on relations between the two countries

New Delhi: US Defense Secretary James Matisse on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a visit to India. During this, he discussed the broad regional and global cooperation between India and the United States in terms of common priorities for fighting peace, stability and terrorism.




According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi praised India and America’s intense partnership on regional and global issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister recalled a comprehensive, clear and positive dialogue with President Donald Trump during his visit to America in June this year.

James Mattis informed the Prime Minister about the progress made in advancing the bilateral agenda and in implementing the decisions taken during his visit to America. Earlier, Matisse had discussed with Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in detail.
